Working Together

I welcome your email inquiry, and will set up a time to talk by phone/video chat for about a half hour, so we can see if my approach and your project are a good fit. If it’s not, I may be able to suggest alternatives.

It will help if you have some idea of—

Who your audience is

What they will be looking for

What you want them to do as a result (know, buy, attend, join, contact….etc.)

Your budget & timeline

If inquiring about a website, whether you wish to be trained to maintain it and/or make major updates, or wish to retain me to do so.

Once we agree to work together and the scope of the work, I will prepare a letter of agreement – in plain English – no legalese, spelling out what each of us is responsible for. (Proposals “on spec” are billed at a nominal fee, which can be applied to the project if contracted.) After I receive your deposit, usually 25% of the anticipated total, the project begins.

PRICING

Because every project is customized to your needs, I don’t offer package rates, but I can provide some general guidelines (prices in US dollars):

BOOK AND E-BOOK DESIGN

If you have in mind a printed volume and/or e-book, please call me to discuss your project. I have experience in designing both covers and interiors in both formats.

(See, for example, Psalms in a Translation for Praying.)

SCULPTURAL RELIEFS

Prices are listed for pieces available from my gallery.

If you have in mind a commissioned piece, please contact me to discuss the options.

If you want to keep the price down, you can—

Make sure all the information your viewer needs is there.

Provide fully edited, spell-checked and fact-checked copy.

Provide photos appropriate to the medium. (Happy to advise.)

For organizations, businesses and groups, have a single representative or “point person” for the project.

For websites, provide any required logos and links to relevant accounts, such as MailChimp, Google, etc.

For websites, use WordPress or a template platform that I am familiar with. (We can talk.)

If you need help with writing, editing, photo manipulation, or setting up accounts, I can provide those services as the same rate as design and execution. Please note that web hosting, printing, foundry charges and shipping (when applicable) are your responsibility; however, I may be able to recommend reliable providers and ways of reducing costs. I do offer reduced rates for progressive non-profit organizations, and may work with individuals on a sliding scale.

Rivkah spent a good amount of time learning about the needs of our community before even starting the design. Once she added her own creative touches and expertise, the website she created totally captured the essence of what we had envisioned. Even better, she gave us some basic tools to manage the weekly updates and was always available to answer questions and make changes. Thanks!
